The Sunrise Suite at Casa São João is located in the city center of downtown Angra do Heroísmo on the Azorean island of Terceira. This historic home underwent a major restoration/renovation completed in January 2020 that unearthed its original stone work now in full view inside, and outside of each of its four suites uniquely. Established sometime in the 1400s, it was once a home for the Merchant Class of the time period due to its location, majestic size, stone craft refinement, and a church documentation from the late 1700s in which it was donated to a convent with information about its previous owners. Casa São João is an excellent example of the UNESCO world heritage cultural preservation requirements for this city. Walk the cobblestone streets to explore the action of "Rua da Se", shopping, restaurants, pastry shops, cafes, museum, ancient churches, the botanical garden, grocery shop, farmer's market, town square, Mt Brasil and its fortress, dolphin & whale tours, sandy beach, The Bay of Angra marina with a variety transatlantic yachts, and the many hiking trails that speak of ancient civilizations on the island.

Upon arrival, you will be welcomed into a lovely reception area by our kind and helpful property manager. Up the stairs you will find your private Sunrise Suite. You will receive your key, and then given a tour of amenities as well as a "how to" demonstration of the appliances. This suite features 4 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, ample closet space, TV, free Wi-Fi, 120V outlets for North American guests, laundry, open concept living room, dining and kitchen area with a fireplace. Large windows and French doors open to the courtyard garden, street balcony, and a stone outdoor patio just for you, covered by a wooden pergola so you can enjoy sipping your morning beverage, or evening meals while planning your Island adventures.
